Uddhav nidhi Stalin: In Tamil Nadu, there was a demand to promote DMK leader and Chief Minister MK Stalin’s son Udhayanidhi Stalin and make him Deputy Chief Minister. DMK’s organization secretary RS Bharati said that the party workers and leaders want Udhayanidhi’s promotion.
However, he also said that party president and CM MK Stalin will take the final decision on this matter. He said that if Udhayanidhi gets a promotion, it will be a huge advantage for the party in the 2026 Tamil Nadu assembly elections. The DMK leader’s remarks come amid speculation that Udhayanidhi Stalin may be given an important position in the government ahead of the Chief Minister’s proposed US visit next week.
What did RS Bharti say?
According to a Hindustan Times report, when asked about reports of Stalin being made the Deputy Chief Minister, Bharati said, “Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has to decide on making Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin the Deputy Chief Minister. It will be announced when this happens.” He said, “This is our aspiration too but ultimately the Chief Minister has to take the decision as the party president.”
Udayanidhi was surrounded by Sanatan controversy
Udhayanidhi Stalin was heavily criticized for his controversial remarks against Sanatan Dharma. Udhayanidhi Stalin had said, ‘Sanatan should not only be opposed but it should be eradicated. Just like mosquitoes, malaria, dengue or corona cannot be opposed and have to be eradicated, in the same way Sanatan Dharma should also be eradicated from its roots.’
Udayanidhi Stalin got bail
The special court in Bengaluru had granted conditional bail to Tamil Nadu Youth Welfare and Sports Development Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin in the Sanatan Dharma remarks case with a bond of Rs 1 lakh. The court had ordered Udhayanidhi Stalin to appear on the basis of a complaint filed by social activist V. Paramesha regarding derogatory remarks on Sanatan Dharma.
